4 Reasons This Is the Only Blender You Will Ever Need

There’s nothing quite like that hunk of spinach you accidentally down after blending a terrible smoothie. My whole life, I’ve been told that smoothies are one of the easiest ways to get enough protein and extra fruits and vegetables into my diet.

But time and time again, my blenders have failed me. With each recipe, my drinks just didn’t taste right, no matter how long I let the damn thing whirl.

So about a year ago, there I was as usual, pissed off that my smoothie had a nasty hunk of vegetable in it. I outwardly complained to my boyfriend, who could only chuckle at what is surely a first world problem. That same week, though, I came home from work to find a giant box wrapped as an early birthday gift. He decided to surprise me early with a professional-grade blender, the Vitamix Professional Series 750 ($549, Buy It Here). You know, the fancy kind that you always gawk at but never consider owning.

The thing was heavy, sleek, and sat perfectly on my counter. Then I started putting it to work and realized it’s the only blender I’ll ever use again. Here’s why.

A really nice thing about this blender is that it’s big enough (64 ounces!), sturdy enough, and efficient enough to make more than a shake.

In fact, my boyfriend and I have made actual meals with it—creative, delicious, and healthy meals at that. Think: hearty chicken curry, protein pancakes, Greek yogurt muffins, pasta sauce, and even “nice cream” made of frozen bananas, chocolate protein powder, and milk. It makes meal prep a breeze, too, because I can make enough of those meals to have on hand for the week.

Single serve blenders are convenient, but I’ve gone through three that have failed to blend every single chunk out of my mix. Not with this one. I get the perfect consistency every time. It includes pre-programed settings, like frozen desserts, soups, and smoothies, so I can just flip the switch and walk away. It knows exactly when to stop.

Smoothies are great. They’re filling (if you know how to make it right), nutrient-packed, and a go-to for any time of day. Here’s the problem, though. Most blenders don’t actually blend a good smoothie.

You’re left with ice chunks, poorly pulverized spinach, and a gritty texture. This is the only blender I have ever used that makes a tasty, creamy, protein-packed drink every time. The best part? It takes only take 30 seconds, which is a small amount of time to pay for starting my day off on the right foot.

Mocha Protein Shake:

One reason people rave about single-serve blenders? The lack of cleanup. I get it, the smaller the container, the less mess you have to worry about.

But thanks to its pre-settings, you can fill this Vitamix with some soapy water, turn on the cleaning mode, and it washes itself in less than a minute—30 seconds if you’re making something light like a smoothie. Dump the water, give it a quick wipe, and it won’t be taking up any room in your dishwasher.

Every blender I have ever gone through has fallen apart at some point: the blades become bent, the glass gets stained and worn, and eventually they just don’t work like they used to—and I give up on trying to make nutritious drinks and meals because it once again becomes a hassle.

I’ve had my Vitamix Pro 750 for roughly a year now and I’m confident it will be the last blender I ever own. Is it pricey? Sure. But considering the money you throw away on cheap appliances, it’s definitely a solid investment that will change your meals for the better.
